5 Bedtime Stories Your'e Child Will Love and You Won't Loose Your Mind

I may or may not have a collection children's books that is one avalanche away from too many. I adore lovely stories and whimsical illustrations. This is a list of a few of my favorites that won high points with my children. In other words, stories I have read more times than the author.

Miss Rumphius

Miss Rumphius was given to me when my son was born. I read it most nights to him until me daughter absconded with it six years later. Even though she claims to be too old I still convince her every so often to let me read it to her, or even better she might read it to me. A lovely story about adventure, coming home, and a bit of guerilla gardening.

By Graeme Base

I have the attention span of an overly excited gnat. Anamalia is one of those books you could read almost every night and still find something new. My son and I would try to find three things in the picture that began with the letter. Wonderful even for older children.

The Secret Garden

I don't think anyone is ever to young or too old for this story about friendship and what can lie beneath prickly exteriors. Also one gorgeous movie!

Goodnight Moon

Goodnight Moon
By Margaret Wise Brown, Clement Hurd

You can never go wrong with Goodnight Moon, the cadence of the words almost makes me fall asleep. It is simply a lovely book.

Penelope and Beatrice: Royal Dogs

Who can resist running back in time with Penelope and her teddy bear Beatrice to learn all about the history of royal dogs?
