Baking for Kids {Penelope and Beatrice}

Depending on how old the littles are around you are this is either a super fun and easy recipe for kids or a great way to introducing them to help in the kitchen and garden. Penelope and Eloise are always in the kitchen and garden ready to help, especially if it means they get to have Lavender & Rosemary Scones fresh from the oven with butter and honey!


Lavender & Rosemary Scones

2 cups flour

1 Tbsp baking powder

1 Tsp brown sugar

6 Tbsp butter

1 Tbsp finely chopped lavender blossoms (fresh or dried English Lavender (Culinary)
½ Tbsp finely chopped rosemary (fresh if possible)

1 cup milk with 1 tsp lemon juice

1 egg

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Blend with pastry blender or fork the lavender, rosemary, flour, baking powder, butter, and brown sugar.Add egg and milk/lemon juice mixture.

Knead 12 times on floured surface and then cut into whatever shape you like and bake for 11 minutes
